Abstract

Nowadays, polymer fiber composites are very popular due to its weight-strength ratio in various industries. There are different types of natural and artificial fibers used for different purposes, according to the strength requirements. Uni-directional and bi-directional woven fabrics are very common for commercial purposes. Here this paper is focused on the behavior of different orientations of bi-directional woven reinforced composites to improve the efficiency of the ability of composites to resist bending deflection when energy is applied to the structure, it determines the resistance to flexing or stiffness of a material. In the present research, the theoretical and practical method was used to calculate the flexural strength of composite material consisting of epoxy resin LY 556 (50%) with different fiber orientations of woven Kevlar fibers. Ansys 2020R version was used to study the effect on different shapes of Kevlar-epoxy composite material. The standard ASTM D790 was used for the laboratory test and Ansys program. the result analysis focused on the stress-strain variation with the orientation and shapes
