Abstract

The multi-pixels and flexible polymer-dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) display device is proposed in this paper. The substrate of the device is PET-ITO film, and the electrodes of the device were prepared by using lithography. The PDLC is prepared by using positive liquid crystal (E7) and the ultraviolet (UV) curable monomer (NOA65). In order to deduce the driving voltage, the PDLC is doped with 1.5 wt% ITO powder. The thickness of the PDLC layer is about 10 μm. The resolution of the device is 128 × 128, and the scale of the pixel is 0.5 * 0.5 (mm). The control voltage signal dependence of the transmittance of the PDLC display device is measured, and the largest transmittance is approximate to 80%. In order to reduce the Toff of the PDLC, the reverse and low voltage pulse driving method is used.
