Abstract

We suggest exible CNT-based gas sensors for breath alcohol measurements. The sensors are composed of a single-walled carbon-nanotube (SWNT) thin lm on a PES (polyethersulfone) substrate for exibility and simplicity and a SWNT thin lm was formed as sensing layer by multiple spray-coating with SWNT composites, which were well-dispersed, highly controlled and functionalized by carboxyl groups in an ethanol solvent. In this work, three di erent SWNTs thin lms were made to compare their electrical response properties. For the fabricated sensors, the conductance and capacitance responses were measured and are discussed. Our alcohol gas sensors showed good sensitivity and linearity even at room temperature.
