Abstract

The purpose of this cross-sectional study is analyzing the impact of human resources management flexibility on employee efficiency and effectiveness during the COVID-19 pandemic. A questionnaire was distributed electronically using a convenient sampling of 261 managers from Jordanian tourism companies. The results showed a statistically significant impact (α ≤ 0.05) of the flexibility of managers, including flexibility of skills, capabilities, and human resource management functions, especially performance evaluation, on the efficiency and effectiveness of employees. Finally, Jordanian tourism companies should involve their employees in many qualification courses to train and develop them to acquire more skills in using IT systems and adopt flexible incentive, promotion, compensation, and reward systems.
