Abstract

Flexibility conditions are described for chemical technology systems (CTSs) for different cases of completeness of experimental data available at the CTS operation stage. Because of the max-min-max procedure, flexibility analysis presents a multiextremum, nondifferentiable optimization problem. The branch-and-bound and split-and-bound approaches are suggested for solving this problem. The flexibility analysis is illustrated by reference to a biological wastewater management system.
