Abstract

Lake Constance region features a very high ecological value. At the same time Lake Constance is rated among the most innovative high-tech growth regions in Germany. As a result of this considerable conflicts of interest with regard to opposing land use systems arise. Based on the case study of the middle centre of Radolfzell, where land use conflicts are substantial, the effectiveness of land recycling measures of conversion sites was studied in detail. The survey revealed that the token measures in Radolfzell contributed to a sustainable urban and economic development.
