Abstract

All-solid fluorotellurite fibers with ultra-high NA of 1.11 at 1560 nm and a zero dispersion wavelength (ZDW) of 1637 nm were fabricated by using a rod-in-tube method. Flat supercontinuum (SC) generation was obtained in a 1.5 m long all-solid fluorotellurite fiber pumped by a 1560 nm femtosecond fiber laser. The SC light had a 5 dB bandwidth of 1776 nm in the range from 1028 to 2804 nm and an output power of 201 mW. The corresponding conversion efficiency was 46.3%. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of flat SC generation in ultra-high NA all-solid fluorotellurite fibers.
