Abstract
We have studied partially premixed flames of LPG with primary air entrainment in a cylindrical burner tube. The optimum axial distance between the gas orifice and the entrance to the burner tube was determined as a function of gas-flow rate and burner geometry. The flame stability, inner cone and outer envelope flame heights, primary air-entrainment rate, and burning velocity were investigated as functions of the gas-flow rate and burner geometry. Empirical formulae are given to describe the variation of each parameter with burner geometry. Some of the experimental results are compared with published work for other gaseous fuels.
