Abstract

Current reports of noncemented fixation for total knee arthroplasty show that fixation of the components is durable for 20 years. Noncemented fixation may be preferable in patients <60 years old. In revision total knee arthroplasty, cemented stems are preferable in patients >70 years old. Copyright 2002, Elsevier Science (USA). All rights reserved.
