Abstract

Five new species of Rotiferophthora are described: all were parasitic in bdelloid rotifers and were isolated from rotifers from samples of rabbit dung and muntjac deer dung collected from deciduous woodland in S.E. England. SEM was used to ascertain conidial shape in 3 species and, combined with TEM, the presence of a membrane surrounding the conidiospores of one of the species was confirmed.
