Abstract

I recently had the pleasure of opening and moderating the first day of the 2014 Colorado Health Symposium, which had as its theme “Transforming Health: The Power of Engagement.” I found thinking about engagement, well, engaging, and in this post I summarize the keynote presentation I gave at the conference. Engagement has many meanings, including some negative ones (such as “a hostile encounter between military forces”). I focused on engagement as “emotional involvement or commitment” and described five engagements that will define the future of health.
