Abstract

Synthetic procedures have been devel-oped for the preparation of spiro(2,3-dioxypropyl-methacryloyltetrachlorcyclotriphosphazene, N3P3Cl4-[OCH2CH(OC(O)=CH2)O] (2) and spiro((2-meth-yl-3-oxy-2-(oxymethyl)propyl)methacryloyltetrachlo-rocyclotriphosphazene, N3P3Cl4[OCH2CMe(CH2OC-(O)=CH2)CH2O] (3). The 1H, 13C and 31P NMR spectra have been analyzed using two-dimensional (COSY and HETCOR) techniques and spectra simulation methods. The crystal and molecular structure of 3 has been investigated by single-crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. The crystals are monoclinic with the space group P21/C with a = 12.154(5), b = 7.825(5), and c = 20.208(10) A and β = 103.240° with V = 1870.8(17) A° and Z = 4. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
