Abstract
During the last few years, many writers have made eloquent and use ful contributions to our understanding of adolescent patients; a body of wisdom and theory has been developed, and the enquiring physician will find many penetrating insights in the medical literature of the past few years.1-4It does seem worth while to describe several representative adolescent patients whose histories illustrate certain features peculiar to this age period. Some of their problems may seem trivial and incidental, but the application of insight and guidance may lead to the resolution of nor mal developmental crises with remarkably little expense of time and effort.
