Abstract

With the recent development of methods for the mapping and analysis of polygenic traits in animal models, a new era in animal genetics has begun. These methods are now being applied to the analysis of various risk factors for atherosclerosis, including hyperlipidemia, hypertension, obesity and diabetes. Such studies promise to revolutionize the understanding of atherosclerosis and other complex human disease
