Abstract
S egmentectomy has been recommended as the surgical standard for the management of isolated, large pulmonary arteriovenous (AV) fistula, with minimal morbidity and mortality and low recurrence rates. However, segmentectomy removes some normal lung parenchyma,1 and this may contribute to an increase in postoperative pulmonary vascular resistance.2 We describe a lung-saving operation including a simple fistulectomy for an isolated, large pulmonary AV fistula.
