Abstract
Muscle stem cells (MuSCs) exhibit different metabolic profiles depending on their activity, however the mechanisms by which mitochondria affect MuSC fate has been understudied. In this issue of Cell Stem Cell, Hong etal. (2022) and Baker etal. (2022) demonstrate that defects in mitochondrial dynamics hinder proper MuSC activation and impair muscle regeneration.
