Abstract
A new cobalt(III) complex salt, [cis-Co(en)2(H2O)Cl](C6H5SO3)2·H2O] (I) has been synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray structure determination and NMR spectroscopy. This is a first report of the cobalt(III) cation in cis-configuration. The crystal lattice of the complex salt is stabilized by electrostatic forces of attraction and hydrogen bonding interactions.
