Abstract

Within the framework of the complex current media ecosystem, traditional television must share space with video streaming platforms like Twitch, which has led new audiovisual consumption habits. This live-streaming video platform focusing on video games has recently spread outside this field and is now in general use, particularly among the younger generations who see it as a new means of accessing and viewing audiovisual content. The potential for interaction with young people that Twitch offers its streamers is one of the keys to its growth and success. Through the analysis of some examples of television content migration involving Ibai Llanos, one of the streamers with the highest number of followers, our aim is to make a first approach to the synergies between television and this platform. In this way, it can be seen that Twitch is no longer a platform linked to gaming, but an audiovisual entertainment channel for a more active and selective audience.
