Abstract
The first round of Situational Judgement Tests (SJTs) has been declared a “success” by the Foundation Programme Office, the body that administrates the test. The SJT was introduced this year for all applicants to the foundation programme, which allocates first year junior doctor jobs in the UK. The SJT—which replaces the previous method of assessment, white space questions—requires candidates to read through clinical scenarios and rank a set of given actions in order of preference. The test took place in December 2012 and January 2013, with two main sittings and one contingency sitting.
