Abstract

AbstractRecently, a previously unseen Exobasidium leaf blister disease was observed on Rhododendron mucronulatum in its natural habitat in Korea. The fungus associated with the disease was identified as Exobasidium miyabei based on morphological characteristics and two‐locus sequence analyses. To our knowledge, this is the first report of E. miyabei in Korea and of its novel association with the host species, R. mucronulatum.
