Abstract

AbstractMature and immature individuals of a small sap sucking insect were collected from Eucalyptus camaldulensis trees located in a coastal area of Syria (Latakia) in October 2022. These specimens were found during regular monitoring of the newly introduced Eucalyptus redgum lerp psyllid, Glycaspis brimblecombei. Collected specimens were identified as Thaumastocoris peregrinus Carpintero & Dellapé 2006. This is the first record of this species, as well as the family Thaumastocoridae, from Syria.
