Abstract
We report the discovery of Mnemiopsis leidyi A. Agassiz, 1865 in the Gulf of Gdansk (southern Baltic Sea, Poland) in October 2007. During the first month of observations the species was found in many areas of the Gulf of Gdansk, from the surface to a depth of 42 m. The length of individual M. leidyi varied from 1.8 to 8.0 cm.
