Abstract
The finding of galls caused by Haloguignardia cystoseirae on Cystoseira elegans from the SE Sicilian coast (Italy) is reported. It is the first record of this species after its description from Corsica. Cystoseira elegans represents a new host for that fungus previously reported only on Cystoseira balearica (= Cystoseira brachycarpa).
