Abstract
The bopyrid isopod Bopyrina ocellata was obtained from the caridean shrimp Hippolyte inermis, collected on seagrass meadows of Posidonia oceanica and Zostera (Zostera) marina in the Sea of Marmara, Turkey. This is the first record of the genus Bopyrina from the Sea of Marmara. One-hundred-and-seventy-eight individuals of H. inermis were collected from the sampling area, of which 21 specimens (11.80%) were parasitized in the branchial chamber by B. ocellata.
