Abstract

The investigation of nonlinear optical (NLO) materials is critically important in developing laser technologies. The AgBi(CrO4)2 which crystallizes in the tetragonal lattice with a space group of I 4¯ is a potential candidate for the infrared (IR) region due to the large birefringence (Δn = 0.18), strong NLO response than the KDP crystal and the high electro-optical coefficients are justified their good performance NLO applications. The investigation of the elastic constant of AgBi(CrO4)2 indicates the ductile nature and the large piezoelectric coefficients make this crystal has great attention as bifunctional material.
