Abstract

ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Tatsuki Tsuruoka is first author on ‘ Development of a fluorescence reporter system to quantify transcriptional activity of endogenous p53 in living cells’, published in JCS. Tatsuki conducted the research described in this article while a Master's course student in Kazuyasu Sakaguchi's lab at Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan. He is now a PhD student in the lab of Kazuhiro Aoki at Quantitative Biology Research Group, Exploratory Research Center on Life and Living Systems (ExCELLS), National Institutes of Natural Sciences, Aichi, Japan, investigating the regulatory mechanisms of cellular responses mediated by the p53 signaling pathway.
