Abstract
ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping early-career researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Maria Pons-Vizcarra is first author on ‘MUNC18-1 regulates the submembrane F-actin network, independently of syntaxin1 targeting, via hydrophobicity in β-sheet 10’, published in JCS. Maria is a PhD student in the lab of Matthijs Verhage at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where she investigates the mechanisms of dense core vesicle release.
