Abstract
ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Makoto Nagano is first author on ‘ Distinct role of TGN-resident clathrin adaptors for Vps21p activation in the TGN–endosome trafficking pathway’, published in JCS. Makoto conducted the research described in this article while a lecturer in Jiro Toshima's lab at Department of Biological Science and Technology, Tokyo University of Science, Tokyo, Japan. He is now a Senior Researcher in the lab of Koichi Watashi at National Institute of Infectious Diseases, Tokyo, Japan, investigating molecular mechanisms for regulation of membrane trafficking.
