Abstract

ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping early-career researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Anne Rademacher is the first author on ‘Real-time observation of light-controlled transcription in living cells’, published in Journal of Cell Science. Anne is a PhD student in the laboratory of Karsten Rippe at the German Cancer Research Center and the Bioquant institute, Heidelberg, Germany, investigating the transcriptional silencing and activation of heterochromatin by using optogenetic tools and other microscopy methods.
