Abstract

ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Amruta Vasudevan and Reshma Maiya are two of the co-first authors on ‘Transport of synaptic vesicles is modulated by vesicular reversals and stationary cargo clusters’, published in JCS. Amruta is a PhD student in the lab of Dr Sandhya P. Koushika at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, India, investigating neuronal vesicular transport in the context of neuronal function and organismal behaviour. Reshma is a PhD student in the lab of Prof. Gautam I. Menon at The Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai, India, modelling and performing theoretical studies of intracellular transport, specifically in neurons.
