Abstract

The catch of a rare species of Melamphaes uniformis (Melamphaidae) is reported for the first time in the southwestern Indian Ocean near the Walters underwater mountain. This species was previously known only by the holotype caught in the Tasman Sea, the Pacific Ocean.
