Abstract

Some of the important developments in the instrumentation of electron probe x-ray microanalysis are reported. Great progress has been made in the analysis of light elements by means of stearate crystals and improved diffraction gratings. Two new commercial microanalysers are described. A miniature electron lens of novel design has been constructed which could radically alter basic concepts of instrument design. Improved method of correcting intensity ratios are referred to.
