Abstract

The steady excitation of an ion-pair charge-transfer band of 1-octadecyl-4-(4-nitrostyryl)pyridium tetraphenylborate formed a fairly stable 1-octadecyl-4-(4-nitrostyryl)pyridinyl radical accompanying, for the first time, a charge resonance band owing to its interaction with a parent cation at room temperature in organic solutions.
