Abstract

Recently, discussions about heavier trucks and railway cars have re-established the discussion about fatigue behavior of reinforced concrete bridges. The paper briefly describes large-scale fatigue tests on reinforced concrete frame bridges. Special attention is paid on monitoring of the expected steel bar breaks by non-destructive testing, in particular by the magnetic flux leakage (MFL) method.
