Abstract

This paper is concerned with the finite-time control for linear discrete-time multi-variable systems. The object of control is to reach the desired state at a specified time instant. A simple method for the determination of all finite-time control vectors is described. The designer has considerable freedom in choosing the control vector which would allow the shaping of the system response during control. This method puts no constraint on the singularity of state matrix, the selection of desired state and the ratio of the order to the number of inputs. These results can be applied to solve minimal-time control problems and finite-time control with minimal energy problems
