Abstract

Abstract The partition function for color-singlet quark-gluon plasma droplets is calculated analytically including shell effects and a total momentum constraint. Bulk properties become size-dependent and the entropy shows how the effective number or plasma degrees of freedom decreases with size. The appropriate size-dependent phase-space distributions for quarks and gluons are derived, and phenomenological consequences of the results are pointed out.
