Abstract

Abstract The mere neglect of a mass effect is quite suspect and often not correct. In the previous chapters, we developed a general formalism for calculating multiple bremsstrahlung in gauge theories at high energies. By considering the limit of vanishing fermion masses, we were able to obtain simple expressions for the various helicity amplitudes. For high energy processes, the massless fermion limit is a good approximation unless nearly collinear particle configurations are encountered. In these kinematical situations, finite mass corrections have to be introduced for a correct description of the process.
