Abstract

The two-dimensional perovskites are emerging as an excellent material platform for various optoelectronic devices such as solar cells, lasers, and photodetectors. Here, by combining perovskite materials and plasmonic materials, a hybrid plasmonic waveguide with perovskite layers serving as the low index materials is proposed. The modal characteristics, fabrication error tolerance, and integration performance of this structure are studied by using the finite element method at the wavelength of 1550 nm. The results show that the proposed waveguide exhibits the strong field confinement ability and high figure of merit. Moreover, the proposed waveguide shows a relatively high tolerance to fabrication errors, and exhibits an extremely low crosstalk, which is quite suitable for applications in the compact photonic integration.
