Abstract

Based on the finite element method, the influence of the monopole transducer excited by the window function signal to produce the pure Stoneley wave is studied. The response of the transducer excited by different excitation signals in free fluid filed and borehole is studied. The result shows that the monopole transducer excited by traditional rectangular pulse signal will produce a strong high frequency signal that will generate complex wave train and is not conducive to the Stoneley wave analysis. Blackman window function excitation signal concentrate most energy in the low frequency band 0∼5 kHz and has little energy leak in the high frequency. The wave train excited by this signal has a pure Stoneley wave and is beneficial to the Stoneley wave analysis.
