Abstract

A finite element method for the solution of the electromagnetic field taking account of the temperature properties of rare-earth magnets is presented. The nonuniform distribution of magnetization caused by the temperature-dependent properties of rare-earth permanent magnets is considered, and both reversible and irreversible changes in the magnetic strength of magnets with temperature are investigated. An analysis of the thermoelectromagnetic coupled problem derived from an apparatus designed for the investigation of the temperature effects on the properties of a rare-earth magnet is performed. Good agreement between numerical and experimental results is obtained.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
