Abstract

The nondashlinear vibration of elastic orthotropic annular plates is studied using the finite element method in this paper. A stiffness averaging technique is used to calculate frequency responses of the plate, and a weighted averaging iteration is proposed to avoid divergence in the process of iteration. The obtained results agree very well with those obtained using the Kantorovich time averaging method, and are much more accurate than the solutions derived from another finite element analysis without using the stiffness averaging technique.
