Abstract
The hyaluronic acids from samples of synovial fluids from ‘normals’ and patients with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, rheumatic fever and other joint disorders, have been fingerprinted by their turbidity curves. The technique, applicable to about I mg of hyaluronic acid, is useful for the classification of synovial fluids, for assessing the size and molecular distribution of the hyaluronic acid and for ascertaining the effect of therapy on these properties.
