Abstract

The testes of fourteen sexually mature camels were fixed by perfusion with glutaraldehyde. The fine structure of Sertoli cells and of their surface specializations towards other Sertoli cells and towards germ cells is described. Sertoli cell nucleolar vacuoles, like those described in several ruminant species, were not found. The general appearance of the camel Sertoli cell suggests that its function is similar to that of other mammals.
