Abstract

Magnetic superlattices were synthesised on monocrystalline SrTiO 3 substrates using La 0.7 Sr 0.3 MnO 3 as a ferromagnetic layer and SrTiO 3 as an insulating layer. The (La 0.7 Sr 0.3 sMnO 3 /SrTiO 3 ) 15 superlattices were grown in-situ by liquid-injection metal-organic chemical vapour deposition. High-angle X-ray diffraction using synchrotron radiation showed the presence of satellite peaks and Laue oscillations indicating the high quality of the stacking. The diffraction patterns were compared to simulated spectra. Electron diffraction and transmission electron microscopy were used to complement the structural and microstructural study.
