Abstract

Use of a digital technique for discriminating between neutron and photon responses of high-efficiency scintillation detectors in fissile material detection systems is proposed. Software-controlled processing of scintillation signals makes it possible to separate the time and energy dependences of the neutron and photon responses of the detection system and obtain various physical parameters indicating the presence of fissile materials in the subject of inspection.
