Abstract

“A woman with a voice is by definition a strong woman. But the search to find that voice can be remarkably difficult”, said Melinda Gates once, referring to the restricted options many women have to get an education. Her words seem an apt summary of the story of Nora Helmer, the main character of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House, first performed in 1879.
