Abstract

This chapter will focus on financial literacy in Canada. Canada has had a robust approach to financial literacy since 2005 when the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) first began to focus on the topic. This chapter will trace the history, explain the current financial literacy strategy and education initiatives, summarize financial literacy research in Canada, and compare Canada to other countries.
