Abstract

The efficacy of routine pregnancy stop smoking services (SSS) with routine care plus a financial incentive were compared in this Scottish research. At maternity booking, self-reported smokers were referred to the trial team by NHS SSS. Eligible participants were aged 16 years or over, up to 24 weeks pregnant, with an exhaled carbon monoxide (CO) of ≥7ppm, and English level adequate to consent.
