The study used the descriptive analytical method in the study. The respondents of the study consisted of 138 employees from private universities in Sana’a. The questionnaire was used as the main instrument for data collection. The finding shows that improving performance was not correlated with financial incentives, while it was more correlated with non-financial incentives. The results revealed that financial incentives have no significant impact on improving employee performance, while non-financial incentives show a significant impact. The study recommends private universities to pay more attention to non-financial incentives.
