Abstract

This study conducts a comprehensive financial assessment of Greece's ten largest energy companies during the tumultuous period of 2019 to 2022, amidst the unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Employing a meticulous analysis of crucial profitability ratios, I delve into the financial resilience and adaptability of these firms within the ever-evolving energy sector landscape. My findings reveal a diverse spectrum of financial performances during the early pandemic years (2019-2020), with notable discrepancies in net profit margins. As the world transitioned to the post-pandemic era (2021-2022), I witnessed varying degrees of adaptability, with certain companies demonstrating impressive resilience while others grappled with shifting market dynamics.
